Dominic has been active in the global equity markets for almost 25 years, and has been advising companies on raising capital for most of his career. Starting as a front-line equity salesman specialising in emerging markets, he went on to build strategic equity advisory businesses for leading European financial institutions.
His first major assignment was to build a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern equity business for Robert Fleming & Co, the family-owned British merchant bank, later taking on responsibility for their London time-zone emerging markets business, covering markets from Moscow to Cairo. He left Flemings shortly before their takeover by Chase Manhattan to join Commerzbank’s fledgling investment banking business as Head of Emerging Market Equities.
At Commerzbank he established one of the first European Corporate Broking teams in the United Kingdom, introducing corporate clients across Europe to the British concept of non-transactional equity advice. He was subsequently asked to form a similar team at Dresdner Kleinwort, were he worked as Managing Director and Head of European Corporate Broking. He moved to Berenberg Bank, the second oldest European bank, in 2008, with a remit to establish a Strategic Advisory (ECM and M&A) business. The bank rapidly became a top 5 player in both disciplines in the DACH markets.
Dominic returned to London in 2013 and, after helping STJ Advisors cement their position as the leading IPO-only advisory team, became a partner at Merlin Partners, a corporate finance advisory boutique. Dominic has advised clients in a wide variety of sectors and situations, ranging from IPO to complex cross-border public M&A and from banks to bar-owners.
He received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from Durham University, UK.
At Granito & Capital he specialises in primary and secondary capital raising and M&A transactions. He has a passionate belief in the effectiveness of ESG management techniques.
